Author J. Boyd Morningstorm's New Book 'Vietnam Warriors! a Recon Story' Recounts the Author's First-Hand Experience With the Horrors of Combat

Recent release "Vietnam Warriors! A Recon Story - Taylor's Tigers Alpha Company 2nd Platoon 1st Reconnaissance Battalion 1st Marine Division" from Newman Springs Publishing author J. Boyd Morningstorm details the author's personal stories of the fear, trauma, and hell he and his brothers in arms went through in Vietnam and the lifelong bonds they formed.

J. Boyd Morningstorm, a former US Marine and retired schoolteacher, has completed his new book "Vietnam Warriors! A Recon Story - Taylor's Tigers Alpha Company 2nd Platoon 1st Reconnaissance Battalion 1st Marine Division": a gripping first-hand reflection on the horrors of war. Morningstorm was born on Wisconsin's Menominee Indian Reservation in 1947. He was raised in Niw-opet and graduated from Shawano High School near his tribal home country in 1965 and enlisted in the US Marine Corps shortly thereafter. In less than a year, he was assigned to Charlie Company, First Reconnaissance Battalion, First Marine Division for a one-year tour of duty in Vietnam.

Following his service, Morningstorm enrolled at the University of Wisconsin, Madison, and completed his bachelor's degree in elementary education. He completed his secondary education social studies certification requirements at Florida State University, Tallahassee. From University of Arizona, Tucson, he obtained his master's degree in American Indian studies and his Ph.D. in comparative cultural and literary studies.

Morningstorm has taught in various schools around the country, including his time in the Navajo Nation. He has also served as director of a native teacher program. Now retired, he concentrates his time writing on Native American veterans and other Native subjects. He resides in Camp Verde, Arizona.

Published by Newman Springs Publishing, Morningstorm's eye-opening tale includes his own experience and those of the brave men who fought with him. They served together and depended on one another for survival—something that created lifelong bonds and friendships.

Morningstorm dug deep within himself to deliver the story of his tour in Vietnam to help readers understand the impact of war on young Americans who graduated from high school, trained as Marines, then were sent to war in a foreign country.
