Author James E. Geil's New Book 'Sailing a North Sea Pilot Schooner' is an Exciting, Humorous, and Sometimes Scary Collection of Anecdotes From the Author's Life at Sea

Recent release "Sailing a North Sea Pilot Schooner: My Years Aboard Tabor Boy" by Newman Springs Publishing author James E. Geil, is a thrilling personal recollection of time spent at sea and the many adventures he had during his years sailing.

James E. Geil, a lifelong sailor and educator, has completed his new book, "Sailing a North Sea Pilot Schooner: My Years Aboard Tabor Boy": a gripping memoir of life at the helm of a North Sea Schooner. Geil was a faculty member in the Nautical Science Department at Tabor Academy for 35 years and Captain of the SSV Tabor Boy for 33 years. He created the school's Orientation at Sea program, spending 22 summers cruising the coast of Maine and nine more on Buzzards Bay fine-tuning the program.

Geil said, "While many sail-training captains and crew tend to be transient, I stayed with Tabor and Tabor Boy for thirty-five years. The reason for that decision came from the opportunity to work with high schoolers, to get students out of the classroom and to expose them to real-world challenges and experiences!"

Published by Newman Springs Publishing, Geil's thrilling and informative tale combines the anecdotes from his time at sea with technical drawings, an introduction to celestial navigation at sea, and Geil's advice for his students on leadership, character, and integrity.

Geil's own interest in mechanical devices, boats in particular, was piqued at a very young age. He first started steering his grandfather's handmade wooden crab boat around 1960. His book recounts all of the vessels he sailed on his way to Tabor Academy and the many adventures, both good and bad, over the years.

Readers who wish to experience this inspiring work can purchase "Sailing a North Sea Pilot Schooner: My Years Aboard Tabor Boy" at bookstores everywhere, or online at the Apple iBooks Store, Amazon, or Barnes & Noble.
